Patritti

Patritti was founded in 1926 by Giovanni Patritti. It is Adelaide’s only winery which remains 100% family owned and fully operational. In 1925, the 25-year-old Giovanni left his Piedmontese village of Carru and moved to South Australia.

He was among the first Italian immigrants to arrive in South Australia. By the late 1920s, Giovanni owned several acres of vineyard, and built a winery with his best friend, Cristiano (Jimmy) Bissacca. Until 1960s, Patritti predominantly produced dry red table wines and fortified wines. To diversify and have sustainable business growth, the Patritti family came up with an ingenious and resourceful solution in 1974, where they released the non-alcoholic sparkling grape juices from 100% wine grapes.

Apple juice was introduced later. Patritti is a five red star winery in the Halliday Wine Companion, and regularly achieves accolades and recognition in Australian and International wine competitions. Since the late 2000s, Patritti has shifted their focus towards premium wines and adopted ‘new’ and rare grape varieties, adding depth and diversity to an already extensive range.
