Champagne Piper Heidsieck
The Piper-Heidsieck Champagne house was founded in 1785, by the German immigrant Florens-Louis Heidsieck. His ambition was to create a “cuvée worthy of a queen”. When he presented his wine to Queen Marie Antoinette, she loved it from the first sip. With that incident, the Heidsieck Champagne soon became famous, and shipped to more than 14 royal and imperial courts from Europe to China. In 1838, the famous winemaker Henri-Guillaume Piper married into the Heidsieck family, and became a partner in the Company.
