Château Monbousquet

Château Monbousquet’s was started in 1540. At that time, it was belonged to François de Lescours. In 1993, Chantal and Gérard Perse came and introduced massive changes to the château. Production standards were completely revised both in the vineyard and in the cellars. Art installations were completed, an aging cellar was created, and the residence area was also renovated.

Being an excellent visionary learder, Gérard Perse also planted the first white vines in Saint-Emilion. His efforts were soon recognized in 2006, when Monbousquet was promoted to the rank of a Grand Cru Classé. This growth has always been well-respected among Saint-Emilion’s great wines, leading Robert Parker to declare: “Château Monbousquet under Gérard Perse’s guidance is exceptional. Right now this growth is probably the most exotic and most sensual wine in Saint-Emilion, if not all of Bordeaux.”
