Castello di Fonterutoli
Siepi, owned by the Mazzei family since 1435, has always been a model farm, still managed today with the same respect.
Siepi is a blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot, the grapes are all grown in the Siepi vineyard at Castello di Fonterutoli. The location is unique with special microclimate. Back in the early 1980s, the Mazzei family decided to plant Merlot to complement Sangiovese in this terroir, generating a wine which is perfectly balanced between elegance, power and complexity.
