Bremerton

Bremerton Wines & Bremerton Vineyards are part of the Willson family-owned company, in Langhorne Creek, south Australia. The area is blessed with the rich soil of the Bremer River flood plain, enjoys cool climate, relatively disease free and generate exceptionally high and consistent quality fruit.

The fresh cool evening wind from Lake Alexandrina, provides mild to warm summer days and cool evenings, which are key for grapes’ long ripening to create intense flavours. It all started in 1988, when the Wilson family produced 57 dozen of a Cabernet Sauvignon using grapes from a neighbour.

With continued experimenting with small batches of fruit over the next five years, they launched a Shiraz in 1991. Today, their product range varys up to 18 wines, with a third of which are exclusive to the Cellar Door and Bremerton Wine Society. With 120 ha of high quality vineyards and a modern winery today, their wine production has increased from 680 dozen in 1993 to now between 34-40,000 dozen. Sales cover all major states of Australia with worldwide exports, including the UK, Hong Kong, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore etc.

Winemaker Rebecca Willson and Marketing Manager, Lucy Willson have focused the family’s wine range on high quality and unique wines. At age 25, Rebecca’s first label – the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon, won a trophy and was rated third best Cabernet in Australia by the Winestate magazine. Bremerton Wines has also been rated 5 star winery by the James Halliday for the past 11 years, successfully became the top 5% of all Australian Wineries.
