Bethany Wines

Bethany Wines is one of the finest wine producers in Australia, which is owned and run by the Schrapel family. Johann Gottlob Schrapel and his family settled in Bethany in 1852, where they started to grow wine grapes and graze animals from cuttings carried from Europe, so as the following four generations of managing the vineyard as a winemaker.

 

In 1981, fifth generation brothers Robert and Geoff established Bethany Wines. The philosophy of the Schrapel family remained consistent to produce exceptional wines in expressing the microclimate and terroir of Bethany, underpinned by the strong sense of tradition that will be passed onto future generations. 

 

Today, the winery specialises in ultra-premium Shiraz with the icon wine the GR Reserve Shiraz, and a range of five single vineyard premium wines are produced with the Blue Quarry. The First Village wine encompasses a selection of white and red wines including fortifieds. The Bethany Wines’ reputation for hospitality and spectacular views of the Barossa, welcoming people from all around the world and will be sharing the same passion for the vineyards in the future.
